Slide Out Mechanism Issue and Bay Door Delamination Issue

A Couple Motorhome Owners Technical Questions & Answers
by Premier RV Services, Junction City OR  Website: www.premierrvservices.com

These are questions from Country Coach owners. The issues, however, are common to all motorhomes, not just the Country Coach brand.

Slide out Mechanism Question
Question:  I have a 2003 Country Coach Allure triple slide, with a galley X-slide.  When the slide goes in and out the water lines, drain, and electric wires move in and out as the slide moves. They slide across the tile floor on an angle as the slide moves. I heard a rattle under the cabinet, so I opened the small cover under the sink to expose part of the below area, and found a shroud type of metal cover, that looks like at one time it was attached to the wires for rubbing protection, as the slide moves the hoses and cables in or out.  It was lying on the floor near the outside frame, and not attached to anything.  I assume that at one time it may have been cable tied to the group of wires and pipes, to avoid them rubbing on the bottom floor, or the top to protect from rubbing on the bottom of the cabinet.  I'm not sure if there is anyone at your facility who might know where it might have been attached.  It looks like a piece of aluminum shaped like a gutter for a house, and is approximately 2 feet long, there are no holes in it, so I think possibly it was cable tied to the hoses and wires, on top, or bottom, or side. There was some dust bunnies on the inside of it, but only on one side, so perhaps it should be either attached to the front or rear of the cables and hoses.
Answer:  You are correct. The piece you are speaking of is the support slide for the plumbing and wiring. It does travel with the plumbing and wiring as the room moves in and out. This piece will need to be reinstalled so the plumbing and wiring again move smoothly with room operation. We can certainly take care of that repair for you, if you wish to bring the coach in. Bay Door Delamination
Question:   I have a question on my 2007 Intrigue-- a couple of the bay doors seem to be delaminating. Since there is foam inside how is this to be fixed?

Answer:  You can address this problem by:
1) Removing back ABS panel from bay door and cleaning surfaces.
2) Then apply StayBon or Elmer's Ultimate adhesive to both surfaces.
3) Clamp pieces back together. Be careful with the clamps so as not to damage the paint.

Premier can handle this repair for you if you wish. For all of your motorcoach needs, or if you have a highline well-maintained motorhome you wish to consign, give a call at 541-998-2640.
